Scottish ski slopes showcase ROBOCUT's star qualities header image

McConnel has given Scottish customers a chance to gain some hands-on experience with its innovative range of remote control machines.

The company held a special open day with dealer Henderson Grass Machinery at Edinburgh’s Mid-Lothian Winter Sports Centre - showing off the all-terrain capabilities of its machines  by tackling grass maintenance at the city’s dry ski slope.

Machines on display including:

  • ROBOCUT - capable of tackling embankments up to 55 degrees, the machine’s low centre of gravity and 150m working range boosts safety by removing operators from hazardous, hard-to-reach and restricted-access sites. It is also highly versatile with a choice of 19 different working attachments
  • ROBOZERO - the world’s first remote control zero-turn mower comes with a choice of flailhead and rotary cutting attachments, and offers exceptional manoeuvrability and precision
  • ROBOLOAD – a safe, stable and productive material handler that features a wide bucket, 300kg lifting capability and outstanding parallelogram arm geometry
  • And the new ROBOFOREST flailhead – which is armed with 50 hard-wearing tungsten carbide fixed teeth and can cut material up to 100mm thick

The event attracted a strong crowd of contractors and local government operators who were able to try out each of the machines.

McConnel demonstration manager Simon Pattrick said: “The event gave potential customers a chance to see how intuitive and easy to use our machines are. It also gave them a chance to see how much safer and more productive their jobs can be by taking advantage of this exciting new technology.”
